Top 3 Hollywood Movies To Watch Out For This October

It’s been a quite a year for movies so far, and filmgoers are hoping that the fall and holiday season theatrical releases can live up to the one-two punch of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” in July.

Though the Hollywood writers and actors’ strikes are causing some release schedules to change, other major end of year titles set to hit theaters include “The Marvels”, “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and “Ferrari”.

  1. Killers of the Flower Moon (Oct. 20)

Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Western epic reunites Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro 30 years after their last films together. “Flower Moon” tells the story of a series of murders of the wealthy Osage people and the FBI’s subsequent investigation of their deaths. The Apple film also stars Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone and actors from the Osage Nation.

2. The Exorcist: Believer (Oct. 13)

Prepare for more spine-tingling and faith-shaking horror as a new “Exorcist” movie haunts theaters in October. Ellen Burstyn reprises her role from the 1973 original as Chris MacNeil, who helps a new father with his possessed child. Ann Dowd, Leslie Odom Jr., Lidya Jewett and Olivia Marcum join the cast, as does the fictional demon Pazuzu from previous “Exorcist” movies. David Gordon Green directs the first film in a planned trilogy from a script he co-wrote with Peter Sattler.

3. Five Nights at Freddy’s (Oct. 27)

Based on the video game of the same name, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is a horror film starring Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Matthew Lillard. This Blumhouse Production tells the story of one Mike Schmidt trying to escape the killer mascots of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The film is set to debut on streaming and in theaters in October.
